My fly fishing journey started when I was 8 years old. I fished with my dad and his friends all around Western North Carolina.  Before I was a teenager, I had fished every stream on the WNC fly fishing trail.  I learned to pursue elusive wild trout in secluded mountain streams.  Many of my weekends were spent on horseback in national forests or camping in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park to fish difficult to access streams.  Summer vacations usually included a trip to the Rocky Mountain National Park to fly fish.  On trips like these, I learned the importance of matching the hatch, rigging, and carrying proper equipment.

I have a deep passion for fly fishing and most anything outdoors related.  I've learned a variety of fly fishing techniques that I like to apply on my guide trips.  Upon graduation from NC State in 2011, I traveled for 8 months in New Zealand.  While there, I learned how to catch spooky trout and honed in on my casting skills in the most adverse weather conditions.

I decided to turn one of my greatest loves into a career. In 2017, I attended a guide school in Big Sky, Montana.  The past few years I have guided for a premier fly shop in North Carolina. It has been an amazing opportunity and I now have several hundred trips under my belt.  I gained invaluable knowledge from some of the top guides in the region; and left well prepared to go out on my own.
